Vivo V23 5G Specifications

Here’s a detailed specification of the Vivo V23.

Vivo V23 5G Price in India

Vivo introduced the V23 5G mid-range smartphone to India with a starting price of around ₹29,990 for the 8GB/128GB model, while the 12GB/256GB edition cost about ₹34,990. Since it arrived in 2022, current pricing fluctuates depending on retailer stock and seller offers.

Design and Display

Vivo V23 5G has a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The panel handles 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+, which means it’ll have smoother scrolling and better multimedia viewing. It has a screen-to-body ratio estimation of 88% and 409 pixels per inch. The phone comes in a 157.2 x 72.4 x 7.4 or 7.6mm body with a weight of around 179g or 181g (depending on the variant). The glass front and glass back ensure the phone has a premium look.

Vivo V23 Camera Performance

Vivo V23 5G has a triple rear camera system consisting of a 64MP f/1.9 PDAF sensor, a 2MP f/2.8 secondary camera, and a 2MP f/2.8 sensor. There’s an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree view as well as a 2MP macro camera. The back camera features HDR, panorama, dual LED flash, and can capture video at up to 4K at 30fps. One of the main features of the phone is the front camera setup. It features a 50MP front camera equipped with autofocus, and an 8MP ultrawide rear camera with a 105-degree wide angle.

Performance and Software

Vivo V23 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, which has been manufactured using 6nm technology. The octa-core processor features a pair of Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz, and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz. The Mali-G68 MC4 GPU is responsible for graphics. It is available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, along with a maximum internal storage of 256GB. The phone was initially powered by the Funtouch OS and Android 12. The software support listed makes it possible to upgrade it to Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14.

Gaming Performance

The Dimensity 920 processor is more than enough for daily activities and multitasking, as well as mobile gaming. It is equipped with a Mali-G68 graphics processor, which supports its 90Hz AMOLED display with smoother animations and scrolling. It’s also pretty light and compact, which makes it easy to hold for extended periods of time. The lack of a microSD card slot, however, does mean that users will not be able to expand the internal storage of the handset.

Battery and Charging

vivo V23 5G is powered by a 4200mAh battery with 44W wired fast charger. According to the specified charging information, the phone can charge up to about 68% in 30 minutes when it is charging under the specified conditions. The storage capacity is not that high, but it helps make this phone so thin and light. The endurance test listed was 103 hours.

Audio, Connectivity and Other Features

Vivo V23 5G has 5G, 4G LTE, 3G and 2G connectivity. It has dual Nano-SIM slots and dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone also supports Bluetooth 5.2 (aptX HD) and a number of navigation systems such as GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. In certain markets or regions, NFC may be available. The smartphone features a USB Type-C port with OTG support but skips the 3.5mm headphone jack. The device has an under-display optical fingerprint sensor for security purposes.

Vivo V23 5G Pros and Cons

The vivo V23 5G has a thin design, AMOLED display, strong selfie camera system, and is equipped with a capable Dimensity 920 processor with a 90Hz refresh rate. The 50MP autofocus selfie camera and 8MP ultrawide selfie camera are useful for selfie enthusiasts, group photo takers, and video recorders. The 4200mAh battery capacity is quite small for the latest smartphones, though, and there’s no expandable storage or 3.5mm headphone jack.

Conclusion

vivo V23 5G is a slim and stylish 5G phone with a photography and design-centric approach. It’s also ideal for photo takers and social media users thanks to its 64MP rear shooter and 50MP autofocus selfie camera, 8MP ultrawide selfie camera, and 90Hz AMOLED display.

MediaTek Dimensity 920 offers robust performance for general use and gaming, with 44W charging speed to help minimize charging times. It’s also quite thin at 7.4mm and a bit heavy at 179g. The drawbacks are the 4200mAh battery, lack of expandable storage, 3.5mm headphone jack, and old hardware features compared to other smartphones.
